Your table.
Your story.
Run right.

Bard of the North runs custom one-shots and campaigns, in person across Ontario or online, built around whoever pulls up a chair.

Why Play

A few hours where you get to be someone else, in a story that's yours

D&D is a chance to escape reality, create heroes, and kick back with some friends telling cool stories while you toss some dice.

No experience needed and no wrong way to play. You make a character, you decide what they do, and the story goes wherever that takes us. Some sessions turn epic. Some are just a bunch of friends laughing over a bad roll.

If you're ready to answer the call of adventure, let's talk!

About the Bard

Chris Goodwyn, Dungeon Master

Twenty years at the table, across four editions of D&D and systems like Pathfinder, Stars Without Number, and Fate. Every campaign starts with the players: their characters, their goals, and a world built around them. New tables get a guided walk through character creation, no experience required — veteran tables get plots, NPCs, and house rules built around the characters they already have.

FAQ

Questions from the table

Do I need D&D experience to play?

No. New tables get a guided walk through character creation and how turns work — no experience required. If your group has never played before, that's the normal starting point, not an exception.

What's the difference between a one-shot and a campaign?

A one-shot is a single, self-contained session — a complete story in one sitting, good for a first try or a one-off event. A campaign is a recurring table with a world and story that keeps growing between sessions, for a group that wants to keep coming back.

Do you run games online or in person?

Both. In-person sessions run across the Greater Toronto Area, and online sessions (Roll20, D&D Beyond) work for players anywhere. Online is a good fit for groups spread across different locations.

How much does a D&D session cost?

Pricing depends on the format — a single intro one-shot, a custom one-shot built for your group, or an ongoing campaign are priced differently. Reach out with your group size and what you're after for a quote.

How many players can a table have?

Tables are built around whoever pulls up a chair — small friend groups, larger parties, or a solo player wanting a one-on-one story all work. Mention your group size when you reach out and the session gets built around it.

Can you run a game for a milestone celebration or corporate group?

Multi-day retreats for groups who already know each other — milestone celebrations, friend trips, and eventually corporate groups with a leadership-facilitation angle — are in the works. Get on the list to hear when they're ready to book.
